so I want to buy this pc, https://www.costco.com/lenovo-ideacentre-3-desktop-12th-gen-intel-core-i5-12400-windows-11.product.100857954.html

and I also want to add this gpu https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09HHLX543?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1&psc=1

now my main concern is if the psu is powerful enough to handle the gpu, in the description it says the psu is 260w, if it isn't then (if you are able to) recommend a different gpu under $200 that will deliver decent performance on basic games such as minecraft and roblox

That PSU will barely even handle a boosting 12400 and all the peripherals 馃拃 you will DEFINITELY not be able to put any gpu at ALL in that shitnuts PC without blowing up the PSU, please DO NOT BUY that without also buying a decent PSU (if one even fits in that case, it鈥檚 probably proprietary bullshit)

Just please, for the love of god, build an actually decent PC, I鈥檓 not being mean that thing is legit a scam for $500- the CPU is worth a little less than 200 bucks and the motherboard is gonna be so garbage that it鈥檚 worth like $25, the case is worth nothing and the PSU at 260W is worse than nothing. It won鈥檛 even handle a graphics card that is powered solely off of PCIe slot power and almost certainly has no 6- or 8-pin connector at all.

You could build an actually good PC for $800.

Lenovo is bad juju. Ask me how I know. I'll never touch another except to strip it for parts. Proprietary everything, underpowered PSUs, they basically rig the game so you have to go to them for just about anything. I'm about to scrap a ThinkCentre M71E after gutting it for the processor because the board is basically limited to specific GPUs they specify, and you can't recase it without $30 in adapters. Also will give fan errors and possibly shutdown with non-Lenovo fans and coolers. I'm doing a couple LGA1155 builds with its original processor and the one I upgraded to, and with Lenovo boards on eBay for $20-$30, I bought a used Intel board with none of that BS for $40. That should tell you something. 馃え

Lenovo ropes you in with cheap entry-level proprietary crap so they can run a train on you when you want to upgrade because only they know what will and won't work until it's old enough to be obsolete, and you'll pay through the nose for it until then. Basically, what you save up-front turns into double-price for upgrades. Another potential issue -- some RX cards don't run well on PCIe3.0, and some prebuilt machines do not have PCIe4.0. I'm not sure the RX6600 is subject to this, but then again, I don't think a 260W PSU can handle it either. You're better off paying a bit more for something without such restrictions.
