if your spending 2250 on a desktop... just get a Razer Blade laptop with like a 3070 and stuff... itll run max games now and probably 5-8 years longer before you need to start dropping settings... but then you have to account for the plateau effect so itll prolly be >10 years before you need to consider upgrading, but you may upgrade storage

A pretty solid build. No significant difference has been found yet between DDR4 and DDR5 while gaming, saves money for other components.

I would HIGHLY recommend against Razer's laptops. They're notorious for having battery issues (I.E batteries "inflating" randomly, killing the entire laptop) and having pretty poor customer support for solving those kinds of issues.

ASUS's ROG laptops seem to be of much better quality. I have colleagues who have bought them in the past and they have been very happy with the quality.

Regardless, OP wants a Desktop, not a laptop. Speaking of which, a 3060 I feel is a bit low for $2200, I think you could potentially squeeze in a 3070 if you look hard enough.

Keep in mind that I am sometimes wrong, so please correct me if you believe this is the case!

I'd go with something like this:

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/7Ykbxs

The Motherboard is easy to Update without CPU, the only thing you need is a USB Flash Drive.

After that it's ready to go with 13th gen.

I use the same Motherboard as well and am very happy with it.

I managed to put a 3080ti in your budget as well as a additional 2TB SSD, which in my opinion is worth it.

You can swap it out for an HDD if you want to.

If you like you can swap the 3080ti for a RX 6950xt, that could safe you about 100 bucks. The 3080ti is faster tho and has much better Raytracing performance.

If you need an Windows Key, there are plenty of cheap options available in Key Store for 10-20 bucks.
