Bluetooth suddenly not available

Go to solution Solved by riotmaker09,

Could you do a system restore from a previous time that the bluetooth was there? To see if that brings it back?

Saw this too on Reddit maybe try it out?

I just had this happen with the b550-F (wifi).

The following worked for me:

  1. Turn off the PC.

  2. Unplug power cable to PSU.

  3. Hold power button for 30 seconds.

  4. Plug power back into PSU.

  5. Boot PC.

I read somewhere that it was a static electricity issue or something and by doing this it resets whatever is causing interference.

Edit: Glad to see it's working for so many people :).

I've been using this pc for a few months now and the motherboard (b550m plus wifi II) has built in bluetooth. I've been using my airpods with it until a week or so ago when suddenly the bluetooth icon disappeared from my icon tray and the bluetooth tab in the settings tells me that bluetooth is off, with no option to turn it back on. Troubleshooting bluetooth tells me that the "Device does not have Bluetooth" and that "Bluetooth is not available on this device". I know that bluetooth can be used on this motherboard and I've been using it for months, so I'm just confused as to how and why it suddenly disappeared from my system. If anyone knows what steps I should take to troubleshoot this that'd be great.

Is there a Bluetooth adapter detected in Device Manager? Is it reporting any errors?

Right click Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) and click Properties. Let's see why it's hidden. That's odd.

I had the same exact problem happen to me as well, a few months back randomly.  I tried EVERYTHING I could do to fix it, nothing worked.  It just literally disappeared one day and then wouldn't show back up.

Lemme guess, are you using an MSI motherboard?  The vast majority (if not all of the people, IIRC) that had this issue were also using MSI motherboards, specifically B550 like I was.

The only thing that I was able to do to "fix" this problem, was to cave in and purchase one of those little USB bluetooth receivers, haven't had an issue since then.  Tried everything - wouldn't even work in my linux install on another drive.

No, I'm using an asus tuf motherboard, I believe this is the product https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-TUF-B550M-PLUS-Motherboard-Addressable/dp/B09WJMC995?th=1

I presume you've already restarted the computer right? Before we go to more drastic measures like uninstalling drivers, going into the BIOS to check if Bluetooth got disabled.

Yes, I hopped into bios to make sure that the bluetooth is enabled

so uh i've tried reinstalling the drivers and somehow I've managed to screw this up even further by uninstalling and then to find out that I literally cant reinstall them; I've tried installing from both the manufacturers website and intel.com, but no matter what I did i couldnt fix the problem of the bluetooth dropdown disappearing from device manager altogether even after revealing hidden devices
