Hello people new user to these forums ...go easy on me :P, looking for a bit of help, So yesterday I got windows 8.1 for a cheap price and installed it on the SSD, I mainly play bf4 and i saw and was told that windows 8.1 was suppose to increase your fps by using the directx 11.2 ?

I haven't got the greatest system:

-ATI 7750 1GB DDR5 runnig latest drivers 14.4

-4gb ram

-i5 3470 @ 3.2GHz

-windows 8.1 (keep in mind freshly installed)

-SSD with bf4 on it

Now before on windows 7 playing at 1080p @ low video graphic i was getting around 45-70 fps average was 60fps but of course has frame drops a lot and now with windows 8.1 i still get a similar performance now I'm not sure  what going on but a little help would be great thanks :) also on a tight budget for upgrades and to note my systems plays other games at 1080p with at least 60+ even some at max graphics. So yea a little help with my issue would be great.

do not really expect that much of a difference changing OS's maybe if you had a wonked installation then maybe a reformat or a new OS might help but some say they didn't have that much of a difference. a budget would be nice to know what you need to get.

well I would say you got fooled into believing it makes a huge difference. They were suggesting a 5% increase with higher end systems so that is almost within a margin of error for benchmarking. If there is noticeable difference its probably because of different map or different things happening while benchmarking.

RAM... you need min 6gb to play smoothly. My system is at 6.5Gb when BF4 is running. It uses about 2.5Gb of RAM. Another 4gigs should do it. Your GPU isn't really at peak so maybe drop visuals a bit. Med should be ok, maybe you can put somethings to high.
