Hey everybody. I'm thinking about a new build in the near future and have a quick question.  Is it possible for me to use a laptop as a display/monitor? I don't really want to buy a monitor on my new rig (not that much space for a monitor in the house).  I currently have this laptop: http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Series-NP700G7C-S01US-17-3-Inch-Laptop/dp/B006MX0WHU

Something like Splashtop, steam in home streaming wouldn't work for your case but google it, and you'll get the idea - it basically sends your game screen over your local connection, to another PC, so you can play games on there, even if the receiving PC has relatively slow performance

I can't simply connect an HDMI or VGA cable between the two?

I don't think so because they are bout output, one needs to be an input for it to work. In simple words they both give out signal and no one recives it

Main PC:

ASUS F1A55-M LX, AMD A6-3500, (2x2)gb Kingston HyperX Blu DDR3 1600mhz, Seagate Barracuda 500gb 7200rpm,

Netbook:

Lenovo Ideapad S10-2, Intel Atom N280, (1x1)gb DDR2 667mhz, WD Scorpio Blue 250gb 5400rpm, Zorin OS 9 Lite

No, Laptops do not have an input just outputs like gfx cards.

You could connect the laptop to a monitor but not a PC to a laptop"as the monitor"
