Hard Disk Sentinel

CrystalDiskInfo

HDTune Free (and a sector check, but not the fast one)

cmd.exe as admin: Chkdsk drive_letter: /scan

cmd.exe as admin: chkdsk drive_letter: /f

cmd.exe as admin: sfc /scannow

Driver update using Driver Booster.

Switch to SSD.

Since yesterday my games on my HDD have been crashing and sometimes just get stuck on the loading screen. Sometimes when this happens it will pop up in the bottom right corner as if i plugged in a usb and say something like configure storage device but its an internal hdd and i dont have hotplug enabled. Whats weird is that the drive is still working and appearing after this. Also when it crashes to the desktop in steam for about a second it will say install on the game which crashed but then after a second it goes back to play.  In event viewer it says "Windows cannot access the file for one of the following reasons: there is a problem with the network connection, the disk that the file is stored on, or the storage drivers installed on this computer; or the disk is missing." I have checked the sata and sata power connections and they are in fine. Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried running windows troubleshooter to see if it can tell you anything? It notices it disconnecting for some reason so you may have some success.

Crystal disk info reports caution on reallocated sectors count but it has done this for ages and hasnt caused any problems like what im expeirencing now. HD tune free came back with no damaged blocks and all the cmd scans came back with nothing. Just installed hard disk sentinel now and here is what it says.image.thumb.png.6590e79d994268f5226c1a18cbe11203.png

Yeah sad to say, but time for a new HDD, or an SSD if you can

Insanity is not the absence of sanity, but the willingness to ignore it for a purpose. Chaos is the result of this choice. I relish in both.

Yep. so close too. L

Wouldn't be as much fun if the device died DURING the warranty, heaven forbid. Good news is drives are pretty cheap these days, you can get a 1 tb ssd for about $40 where I'm at
