I’m looking for some guidance, I have a daughter with special needs and she loves playing older games like Simpsons (movie and hit and run), Lego Dimensions and Disney Infinity, toy story, Madagascar and similar games on her 360. She wants to play the new Disney game Dream light plus a couple of other games from the xbox one (nothing demanding).

What I want to know is which console to get either the xbox one s or the xbox series s. I think it would be best to keep her 360 buy an addition xbox to play the new games, but in the back of my head I keep thinking what to do if the 360 breaks and as the series s is digital only and I wouldn’t be able to digital copies of some of her games.

Driving me mad trying to pick the best option, so any help would be appreciated.

mabye u should consider selling it and buying the xbox 1 if your 360 is in good condition u could save a buck and u can buy an xbox 1 but if u dont mind me asking u do u play any titles?

if u do play any tiltles you may be able to get a series x at msrp if you invested some more money

While I don't usually opt for the previous gen model.
Me, personally, in this case,  I'd go with the One S. (If it is confirmed the owned games are compatible with the One S)
Unless I really want to spend money to re-buy the owned titles, play at 1440p, 120fps. (If the digital copy of her usual games exist anyway)

It's most probably cheaper than the series s anyway.

But yeah, as @swabro said, you can try selling the 360 and the owned titles as well, and use the money to reduce the cost for the Series S + Rebuying her usual games.

Dunno if it's the correct game title, If it is, Check Q&A section

it really depends I mean u are correct but if @Martin.UK also wants to play some titles that may be more heavier(eg warzone, apex, god of war etc.) and can spend an extra buck I would go for x but if its only his daughter than I would say go for s but in any of those two cases u should still sell the 360 if its in good condition

speaking of which if the s breaks and u cant play those games on the s and only 360 if you have a good pc you could be able to emulate the games but if you want to keep the 360 I reccommend that u save up more the s or x depending on your case which I said on the quote above

Chances are most of his owned 360 titles are not compatible with the One S anyway.
I tried searching for SImpsons, Lego Dimensions, Disney Infinity and can't find it in the wiki list.

But yeah, I had a thought maybe the father/mother wants to play heavier title as well, but I kinda disregarded it since he said his daughter has a special needs. 😆
(My apology to the Father/Mother)

Agree on the part about selling the 360, but only if the games the daughter usually plays exist on the new models.
Or if the daughter doesn't mind those games gone from her usual days

I never dealt with special needs child, so I can only relate it to what usually happens in my household. (My apology)
And oh boy, the brats around me sure can raise hell over something they usually play with if it's gone.

Additional note : Everything will break at some point, just a matter of when and/or how.
Soo... yeah.... I leave it up to the parents how to teach the child about it, and how to cope with it.

Thanks for the responses her 2 main games are Lego dimensions and Disney infinity but you can no longer get the digital copies of the games so it would have to be the series x and use the disks and that's not worth the money for these games. The other games she plays are on the download store.

No I won't be using the console been a life long PC gamer and I can't see me changing now 😀.

I think I will get the series s and keep the 360 as well so kinda the best of both worlds especially if something new comes out that she will want to play.

Thanks again for taking the time to reply
