My psu is a raidmax rx400xt and my cpu is an i5 2310

In theory yes, but seems like a fairly dated PSU.

I've been using my 480 with a 220w PSU for half a decade now.

It's so old that it even has a 115v/230v switch. But since 400w(336w actually) is enough, who cares?
