anyone have any idea when manufactures of psu like corsair will be hsipping gen 5 psu's with the standard connector for the rtx4080 instead of using the adapter that comes with the card

Some Corsair news for you : https://www.corsair.com/newsroom/press-release/ready-to-go-beyond-fast-corsair-announces-compatibility-for-nvidia-40-series-graphics-cards

TLDR :
September 29th is when they'll start shipping their custom h12vpwr cable, rated for 600W.
Link to order the cable :

This is quite interesting, though :

*600W load requires a 1200W rated CORSAIR PSU or higher. 450W load requires 1000W or higher. 300W load requires 750W or higher.

they tried to make the 12 pin cable the standard for 3000, and i don't know of any aibs that went for it, afaik, maybe it will be the same this time? if not, i would imagine you will be able to order a proper cable for the card without having to use an adapter like these for the fe 3000 cards: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Accessories-|-Parts/PC-Components/Power-Supplies/12-pin-GPU-Power-Cable/p/CP-8920274

i don't know if there is any info out yet about if aib's will be using the new connectors, so someone correct me if i'm wrong please.

it's getting more and more confusing with the different versions of the same model...

so basically while the psu makers may not include it standard in the box you can buy the cable direct from them at a cost. i plan on getting custom cables anyways so maybe i can get a custom 12 pin cable
