Hard drive not detected

My hard drive isn't detected in bios, I've updated bios and tried everything, however I have an old seagate barracuda which when plugged in boots into windows (I have no idea which version) , I think I need to replace my newer one since the sata plug might scuffed, any help is great

I think you misunderstood, i mean the sata connecter that goes to the mothrboard, my power works since sata power works for rgb

well i replaced my psu and left the sata power cable from my corsair psu to an evga one and it fried it

Oh yeah always remember to never use other power cables, use the one the PSU comes with.

100%. when doing PSU swaps I don't even open the new box til I've yoinked all the old cables. 

 

Have you tried the drive in a different tower? Also try with a different SATA cable as sometimes they will flake out only on some drives. 
TBH my guess is dead drive.

yeah after seeing that ltt vid of linus saying that different psu makers use different pin outs i have ran from those

TBH my guess is dead drive.

I don't think it's dead since when I bought it they tested it and it worked but it was plugged in via USB. But I will use another sata and see if that works
