So I've been having trouble with a Dell version of the RX 580 where in one game I've been able to play for maybe a half hour (Tetris Effect) with no issues but besides that the PC powers off and then back on usually before the game window even displays anything. Resident Evil Village I can make it as far as the menu before it happens and God of War the game doesn't even open before the screen goes black. The strange part is the card works in my brother's PC just fine and my PC right now is using a borrowed GTX 1080 without issue. It seems the problem only occurs when it's this specific card in this specific PC. Ive replaced the 430 watt PSU with a new 600 watt PSU, tried swapping the RAM with a different 8 GB DDR4 stick, and stress tested the CPU. The only thing I haven't tried is running it with 16 gigs of RAM like I am using with the 1080 currently but a different 8 gig stick didn't fix the issue so I can't see adding one stick of RAM fixing it but I will try it before the night is out.

My mobo is the ASUS h310m-e r2.0 and CPU is an i3-8100. Not sure what the original RAM was but currently using 2 Ballistics 8 gigabyte DDR4 sticks, unsure of RAM speed not sure how to check.

PS. Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers multiple times with DDU

Whats the psu make and model? (old and new)

Where did you get the dell card from?

I'm not sure on either PSU but I do know the 430w PSU, it's gold rated, used to work fine with the 580 until I actually lost the PC in a move. When it turned up a year later the friend who found it had it poked away in a safe dry place and never even realize what it was let alone turned it on. And the new 600w PSU, sadly not gold rated but oh well, runs the 1080 without a single issue. I'll be in a position in a couple hours to post make and model of both PSUs.

As for the card it was passed on to me by a sibling who upgraded to an RTX 3060 or 3070 or something. Same sibling who loaned me the 1080 after we are now thinking we were wrong about the PSU.

Not sure where he got it. I'll ask him when I get back to check the PSUs.

Yes but what model number? wattage and rating mean nothing in terms of quality of the psu and this sounds like an issue there possibly caused by that rx580 making it go intonprotection
