you sure can upgrade youre graphics card. what is your budget? prob the best for your system i would say the msi r7 265 at 150$ and it performs great (i doubt it would be a bottle neck) http://pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-r72652gd5oc

look for a 7870XT on ebay, amazing value

i'd stay away from ebay ive had bad experiances but a 7870 would be a big bottle neck and you wouldnt be able to use it to its potential also with a r7 265 or r9 270 you get two free games #amdbundle #freegames are awsome

The 7870 might have a slight bottleneck, if he overclocks the cpu he should be fine, and if he plans on getting a new cpu at some point get a more powerful card and let it bottleneck a bit until the cpu upgrade

Its a testbench, not an actual case, and no not necessarily, I would buy the card and if it only reaches 80% usage in games then think about upgrading the cpu at some point, but if he can reach 90% or more usage then there isn't much of a bottleneck and it shouldn't be a big issue, especially if he overclocks the cpu. I would be wary of ebay however, so if you can't find it in ur price range go with the r9 270

Also another gpu to look at is the GTX 750TI, Its a great budget GPU that seems to have no issues running with just about everything

do you get any free games with the 750ti???? and how does performance stack up to the r7 265? Im pretty sure the r7 265 edges out the 750 ti (depending on the title they really trade blows) and at 150 $ the 265 is great bang for the buck

You get 1 free game with the GTX 750TI and they have pretty similar performance but with the OP having a Quad Core APU vs CPU, the 750ti will be a better buy vs the 265 which he wont get all the performance out off in the long run

They are pretty close, although the r7 265 seems to win by a bit in the majority of benchmarks I have seen, but the 750ti runs cooler and uses less power

The 265 doens't 'edge out' over the 750 Ti but easily beats it. It's a bit faster than the 660 which the 750 Ti is clearly behind.

750 Ti < 660 < 7850, 265

Well i hope it can runs Thief on normal 720p .. ?

And it they both should, they can run most games at 1080p on around normal settings, you'll have to find benchmarks for the card running thief to be for sure

Edit: Here is a thief performance review with the 750ti http://www.hardocp.com/article/2014/02/26/thief_video_card_performance_preview/2
