CPU upgrade

Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

Just as simple as replacing it.

Hello, I am about to upgrade my CPU from an AMD FX 6300 to a FX 8350. This is the first time I've ever upgraded a CPU and I'm wondering if it's as simple as I think it is. I know how to take out the previous CPU and replace it with this one but do I have to worry about anything in the BIOS? Or is it as simple as replace and then I'm finished?

Wishing leads to ambition and ambition leads to motivation and motivation leads to me building an illegal rocket ship in my backyard.

Get the FX 8320 save you some $ its the same CPU just clocked at 3.5Ghz

That concept is so stupid

Depending alot on your current motherboard, it needs to be decent.

The motherboard you have listed on your profile specs, is not decent enough for that powerhungry 8 core.

78LMT-USB3 Gigabyte, only 4+1 powerphase and cheap ass vrm´s. I would recommend to buy a better mobo aswell, if you want to overclock.

It'll be decent enough to support a different CPU... I don't need all the confetti and shit, as long as it works. :P
