Help first time building a gaming rig!

Go to solution Solved by Ryuikko,

I'd reccommend to look out for the next gen hardware that should be coming out in the next couple of months, but if you're looking to build now, then I'd reccommend something like this

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/gjqdv3

The 12700f is a nice choice for your needs, and the best price to performance, with the 12400f being the next best choice which will handle gaming easily

Cheap aftermarket cooler that's on par with the NH d15

Good board for the price

Cheapest kit of 32gb ram. Brands don't matter too much when it comes to ram, so its mostly for how you want your ram to look like

Good 2tb storage

3080 which is more on par with a 6900xt on amds side

Nice case imo and a good 850 watt psu

Aim: Get most worth out of my buck for mid- high end gaming.

Budget (including currency): 2k-3k $CAD

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: gaming/programming/modding

Other details :

I am newbie to building pc but not alien to technology , still got lots of research to undertake but so far i have decided to go with 3 options for gpu - 3070,  3080 or amd 6800 xt. LHR is fine.

Cpu- Open to opinions, havent yet decided on it.

Motherboard - Open to opinions, havent yet decided on it.

cpu cooler - Keeping it simple.Open to opinions, havent yet decided on it.

Memory - prolly go with 32 gb ddr4. Open to opinions on what to look for or brands to look out for.

Case - Open to opinions, havent yet decided on it.

Will not be overclocking , might get 2 monitors later on, usually play resource intensive games and action fps like aoe , cities skylines  cod n similar titles, open world games like zombie titles n fallout, mp games like squad, dayz, ready or not. Not a big multiplayer guy so not looking for a fast paced competitive build neither a content creator. My work includes developing and maybe animating in future.

I can always upgrade to save money for now but rather make sure rig lasts long before I need any big upgrades.

Let me know any other accessories  I will need like connectors and stuff like it to build pc.

Your Help is appreciated!!!

I m looking into cpus and prolly a i71m 12700 or 400 be good for my workstation related tasks. 850 psu is what I had in mind as well but I will have to see the availability  of it. Idk much about how to go bout choosing motherboards but I will surely check you recommendations.
