Sorry I'm trying to do my first build but feeling a bit overwhelmed by graphics cards both in price and in options.

For context: I'm looking at doing a mATX build and therefore space is limited.

Overall pc build budget is 1000GBP

My options are:

Used 2080 or 2080ti

3060ti

Rx6700

My issues:

The 2080 is a very large card and it's also going to be two generations old soon.

The 3060ti is very expensive and the 3060 just isn't a very good card for the cost.

One of my pc enthusiast friends doesn't trust amds graphics cards due to the lack of software and comparability as well as personal bad experiences with them.

Would appreciate any help!

My vote goes towards RX6700. Unless you want specific feature support like raytracing or rendering compatibilities for software you can't go wrong with AMD. A powerhouse for pure gaming. Will also be cheaper than NVIDIA with far better value for money because you're not paying the mainstream tax.

Would help to know your rough budget for a card, not entire build since we don't even know what build it is.

But RX 6700 XT or RX 6750 XT (which is better and I found it cheaper on Scan) competes with RTX 3070 while costing a lot less...

RTX 3060ti is quite good if you can find it for around 400GBP as it's just around 10% to 15% slower than RTX 3070 and RTX 2080ti is similar to RTX 3070 so depends on pricing, I wouldn't pay more than 450GBP for used 2080ti though. The extra VRAM is nice but yeah, these cards have been in use for quite some time now.

Really hard to give any advice without the rest of the specs of the system, and what kind of use you're planning.

Ah sorry!

Specs as of now:

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/vn8hY9

Budget as of now for GPU is 300-400.

Purpose: RPG single player games (including ac vallahala and elden ring alongside less graphically intense games), bits of MMOs. Digital art, bit of video editing, photo editing.

I think it's the lack of ray tracing my friends worried about. I will not be 3d rendering no.

Sorry for not providing more details! I'll probably do a more detailed post on the build forum just want to figure out the GPU a bit more first.

There really isn't a "lack of ray tracing" to worry about. If you're really set on RT, then get the 2080 Ti, if not, then the 6700XT/6750XT like was recommended.

Yeah im leaning to the 6700. I couldn't find a 6750 at a reasonable price but I'll keep an eye out. Thanks.
