SAMSUNG SATA 870 EVO issues

hello, LTT forum!  
long story short,
my sister HDD was corupt and i want to upgrade her daily driver to SSD.. i read about SAMSUNG SATA 870 EVO with good benchmark.. 
but then, i came across with reddit thread that all the user have a issues with 870, 


my question is,
are SAMSUNG SATA 870 EVO still worth to buy today? are defect product still exist in the market?

There are a lot  2.5" SSD that are way cheaper than 870 evo, even if there are performance differences, the average user won't notice it at all. It is not worth it.

So, the question is, why would you buy a 870 evo?

Namely: crucial MX/BX500, silicon power A55, WD Blue Sata SSD.

I have 2X870 and a 860 for quiet sometime now and had 0 issues.

Unfortunately crucial isn't avaliable with great distributor support in my region, so was silicon power A55, yes maybe i will chose WD blue over the samsung one for the safety purposes..
