Horizontal pump/res combi mounting. Safe?

Hard to find much about this, in particular the EK-Quantum Kinetic 200. logical it works with the pump separate.

 

Anyone done it?

Yep, according to its manual (page 12) you can install it any orientation except with the pump at the top.

More of a "have you tried it was it a pain" question. I know it says it in the manual but does it work well? Should have worded it differently to be fair.

Works the exact same as vertical. Only problem is filling the loop unless you set the case in a way that the pump is vertical while bleeding, which you should. 
If not, once the fluid level drops near half you have to fill the res back up so it doesnt go below the inlet.

thought as much and as the build focuses on ease of use, maintenance and performance it would go against the grain completely. Let me tell you keeping to the script is hard lol.
