Good sources for Network research

Hello LTT, I am new here and english isnt my first language so bear with me here.

I am currently doing a project in Network research on how to identify and implement a secure network in  a small/medium corporate environment, in this project I want to outline various types of Networks, their Equipment, Media and Topologies As well as, newly introduced networking technology, security, and Routing protocols.

 

if you guys have any good sources from where I could procure all of this information, I would be much obliged.

For the older stuff a Comptia a+ prep guide could help you. There are a lot of free ones.  Use that to get names and acronyms and then Wikipedia to look them up.  Not sure about new stuff.  Comptia only goes win7 to win10 currently
