Mhm it's fine to have games and os on the same drive. It won't have an effect on the perfromance of it

Hi, so i'm building a new pc and i'm wondering if I can have one m.2 2tb that I can use for everything, from OS to games to media to w/e. Or should I use one for OS and one for games etc?

Yes, you can install your games on the same drive that your OS is installed on.

You can have everything on 1 drive, it's how PC's are normally set up.

 

2 drives makes a few things easier. 

 

Either way works.

Technically, it should work without any issues.

 

I'll advise you on why it's better off installing the games on separate SSD.

Say for example that your OS is crashed etc and unrecoverable by a mistake you did or may be Windows being Windows etc. The size of games are quite big these days and its hard to download about TBs of Games when you re-install the OS.

 

So, one SSD for OS (250GB or 500GB) and 1TB+ for Games library as you wish. When you re-install the OS, you can just point your game launchers to where its installed and it should be able to recognise.

 

Completely not necessary. Just for fool-proofing.
