Hi,

This is my current part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/rvukasin/saved/#view=GZN4pg  (3090 is on the way, still using 2080 Ti). As 2080 Ti can get hot in this case I was thinking of buying a new one. I need a good airflow case and I don't mind buying additional fans to increase performance. I am not interested in looks as it is under my desk anyway.

I would also prefer to have more than 2 normal USB-a on the front panel.

Any suggestions or pointers? I am looking for something future proof.

There will be many opinions on this, mostly concerning airflow, and rightly so, as the 5900X has more challenging cooling demands. However, it does not require liquid cooling, I air-cool one in a Fractal Design Pop XL Air (the lower-mount ODD bay was what sold me on it). But to be fair, my build (sans Pioneer Blu-Ray drive) was previously in a Corsair 4000X, which kept my 5900X and RTX3060ti-8GB-OC in check, running PBO and OC modes, respectively. And that case has just 34 sq inches of intake. So while airflow is important, you need not have the volume of the Holland Tunnel for effective cooling.

I don't badmouth others' input, I'd appreciate others not badmouthing mine. *** More below ***

I had a 2080 ti and replaced it with a 3090.

The 3090 is much harder to cool and all my traditional high airflow cases were a fail.

The cases that were successful are ones that could intake air below the GPU.

For my build using a Noctua NH-D15 it is a Lian Li o11 Dynamic EVO.

The only other type of case I would use is one that can exhaust out the bottom like the Fractal Torrent.

+1 for the Torrent Compact. Awesome case. Take your time with cable management though. A lot of reviewers complain about it, but they have a timeline to work with.. if you take your time it’s an awesome case. For simple builds it’s super easy to work with.

I'm sure the three or four stock fans included will work fine for most people. However, I already had six LL120s and a Commander Core XT, so I went ahead and swapped them anyway.

That being said, if you want to add more, they will be hard to find individually for at least a couple more months, so I have four brand-new ones if anyone needs them. Just make me an offer plus shipping.

I have the exact same CPU/MOBO/D-15 as your list and I run a Lian Li Lancool 2 Mesh and its fantastic.  Very easy to build in and extremely versitile.  I just bought the Lian Li Lancool 3 for a custom water loop im converting mine into and wanted more room for larger radiators but for air cooling the Lancool 2 Mesh is fantastic.
