Budget (including currency): €2500

Country: the Netherlands

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: gaming but also a lot of programming.

Other details

after years of saving, I’m finally able to afford my dream pc (I never dreamed of the best of the best that can rival nasa. Just a medium/high ranking pc). I already own a monitor (1080p, 60fps). The budget listed is excluding some money I put aside to buy another monitor. So it’s all for the pc. I already own a decent keyboard and mouse. I’m just looking for some recommendations/things to look out for. Full build recommendations are welcome though. I’d prefer an Nvidia hou since I’m familiar with cuda programming. I’d prefer to build it myself if possible.

Wait another month or two. It looks like new CPUs are getting very close. It'd either change your build completely or save you some money and allow for higher end current gen parts.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Not bad, but I'd up the GPU to a 3080 which is like 20EUR more only ! The 3070Ti isn't correctly priced ...

And I don't think OP needs 32GB, he rather needs a more powerful 850W PSU

Also changed monitor to a very nice LG 32" , at same price

As IkeaGnome already said, wait a bit - this fall should be full of announcements and maybe releases from AMD, Intel and NVidia, that might also benefit you with sale on previous gen, if you decide to go with that.

However, since there are already a couple of people going full throttle on unnecessary overkill of your budget, I'll just give you some bits:

Don't pay much for MOBO if you don't need its bells and whistles.

Atm games aren't benefiting from a beefier CPU, 12400 is the current best value with 0-to-marginal fps improvements going up, so your programming should determine if you want to go up. DDR4 @3200 is still the way to go. Holding my fingers crossed for AMD's announcements.

Atm 1080p@60 gaming requires min 3060 for the fanciest graphics. Go nuts here, since you might use it for programming too. NVidia price drops on high ends is expected. However, you might want to jump to the next gen. Base your PSU according to GPU requirements.

Check Gamer's Nexus for best cases and cooling. Fractal Torrent and Noctua heatsinks/fans are a safe bet.

Thank you. I’ll definitely wait a month or 2-3. Also, would an AIO cooler be the smart thing to do? Or is a fan cooler good enough for current gen?

Atm AIO is not necessary and only adds a point of failure. Good heatsink is either close enough or matches in performance, but always wins in maintenance/longevity.

Also if you choose 12400 or something close, cooling won't be as big of a problem. You can go overkill with something like Noctua D15(S), or something more sensible (and cheaper) -> Gamer's Nexus has a video for best cooling solutions (he probably has newer):
