How do I transfer files on network?

So I can acess my laptop and PC through them but if I drag or paste something on the explorer after dopuble clicker the laptop logo, it won't do anything. Do I gotta do a group or something?

I use a Win7 homegroup if i want to transfer files directly

win+r then type in "\\<computer name or ip>\c$" w/o the quotes

you will be prompted for admin/user credentials on the target PC. Type them in, and you should gain access to the root of the C drive. From there browse to wherever you want and copy/paste

There are better ways of doing this, with shared folders and security settings etc...  But IIRC most windows machines have the C$ share enabled by default.
