1. Budget & Location
My budget is approximately $1,500, but I can go over if necessary. I live in the U.S. specifically in Texas. I have access to Microcenter, Fry's Electronics, Tiger Direct, any store I would need.

2. Aim
Heavy gaming on max settings and heavy multitasking. Possible video editing as well.

3. Monitors
Currently I only have one 1920x1080 monitor although I plan on upgrading to two 1920x1080 monitors or one 1440p monitor.

4. Peripherals
I do not need any peripherals but I do need an OS.

5. Why are you upgrading?
I am upgrading because I have a cheapo Alienware that can't play any games on the settings I want, it is also very slow and I want to build my own custom gaming PC. I want to be able to upgrade it as well in the future whenever I need.

Ask me any other questions you may have if you need to clarify something. Also, I want this to be an Intel/Nvidia build.

That's what i would do. Take into account prices are in Canadian dollars so should be about 1500 USD.

That's what i recommend if you know right now you want to do video editing. If you aren't certain change for an i5 4670K and 780.

How's this look? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3zxGH

Why Intel/Nvidia? The 780 is ~$480 which would be $60 more than the 290 for similar performance.

Since you said it could go a bit over I decided to make every part solid without compromising. If you really JUST want pure gaming performance, I can make that happen (with a 780ti or a pair of r9 290s or whatever). Here you have plenty of storage and it's fully SLI ready, just pop in another GPU and you're good to go ;)

There has been a similar thread done for a $1,500 (USD) build a couple of days ago. Here's the thread (http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/144204-a-1500-pc-build-need-suggestions/). I hope it helps. :D
