Hello!

I have just found out at Bestbuy that there are two versions of XFX 6700xt with only difference of max resolution, the one 8k and the other with 4k.

This is not true.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Here are the links of the product. I chatted with agent and he told me only difference was max resolution potential other than that they are the same, but i am confused as hell. No idea what should i do.

In all likelihood, the agent doesn't know anything about GPU's, he is reading the product listings and telling you the only difference he found, which is an error on the listings.

The maximum resolution is defined by the display outputs on the card, which AMD's specifications for the RX 6700 XT list as DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1a.

RX-67XTYJFDV model is the one listed on XFX's website and for sale from other retailers. The RX-67XTYJFDR model appears on the Best Buy site and nowhere else. It is actually fairly common for electronics companies to issue "different" models of their products for different retailers where the only actual difference is the model name/number, so that the retailers can dodge price-matching. It's more common for stuff like displays but it's not outside the realm of possibility XFX would do it with a GPU. Actually nerfing the max output resolution would cost them money to downgrade the card from AMD's specifications though so there's no way in hell they did that.

In any case, unless you have some actual use case for 8k resolution, I wouldn't worry about this at all.

Thank you for detailed explanation, what i am afraid the most is that no one has ever bought that ''downgraded'' version of this card and i fear i could get scammed by spending 400 bucks on wrong gpu.
