Problem:

Red boot light on motherboard.

'Input not supported' on the display connected with HDMI cable and no bios showing up.

1. System configuration

  • Huntkey 450w PSU
  • 1000GB SSD NVMe M.2
  • AMD Ryzen 5600G
  • MSI MAG B550M MORTAR MAX WIFI
  • DDR4 3200G 8Gx2

2. Troubleshooting steps I already did

  • Update BIOS to 7C94v18.zip using flash bios button.
  • Try clearing my CMOS(use tweezer to connect JBAT1)

I am unsure how to proceed from here and would be thankful for any ideas and input! Thank you very much in advance! :)

Does the mobo boot with 1x8GB of ram? Are you able to reseat CPU and power cables to make sure they're snug?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

PSU tier list

How many watts do I need?

PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

What does your monitor usually say when there is no connection? Usually I would expect it to say, no input, or no connection. 'Input not supported' almost sounds like it's getting a signal, just doesn't know what to do with it.

Thank you so much for the instant reply!

Yes, I placed 1x8GB RAM on the first slot.

I reseated the CPU and power cables(especially 24 pins ATX_PWR1 and 8 pins CPU_PWR).

I plan to buy a DP cable and try on tv and other display.

When there is no connection: No signal

I searched the web and found there is a CSM in BIOS. The issue could be the system resolution is not fit. I'll try to connect my PC to the TV to see if I can enter the bios and enable the CSM.

that's good, if it's able to boot with one stick of ram it can likely be trained with two to be stable.

Before I install Windows 11

HDMI: input not supported

DP: works fine

After Windows 11 installed

HDMI: input not supported when MSI logo should show up and works fine when to display Windows start page.

DP: works fine. MSI logo shows up and then Windows start page.
