Probably would, (you have a 280x, right?)  Updating to the latest AMD drivers probably would help, cant say to expect massive improvements but once Mantle becomes part of a stable release you should probably update.  Mantle is still in its early stage and depending on the setup its offering improvements.

it might sound wierd but im afraid to f**k my pc up :D

Most of us on this forum are comfortable even using beta drivers, and even we don't fuck up our PCs. Worst case a game bug and we roll back to an older driver.

But The driver I linked to is not even a beta. It's a WHQL certified driver.

Which means it has been through a stringent QC process and been certified by Microsoft.

If the install fails you will still have display. You just won't have hardware acceleration without a proper driver. The OS can still communicate with the VGA in a basic way.

Ever wonder how your BIOS display works without a driver before loading windows?!

Who cares about valley, it's a synthetic benchmark. I thought your problem was Battlefield.

Anyway graphics rendering using APIs like openGL and DirectX is a very complex process, and the GPUs themselves are very complex. To add to that complexity every game engine works slightly differently. So we have a situation where engineers at Nvidia and AMD are constantly doing R&D in order to squeeze more performance out of their cards on newer games and more importantly fix bugs that have been reported to them by users. So for graphics cards always try to use the latest driver. It's not dangerous at all. Just try there is no reason to be so hesitant in updating drivers... Keep in mind this is not a firmware change, you cannot damage your card or void warranty or anything.
