Recently completed a brand new build with:

CPU - Ryzen 7 5800X

GPU - MSI RTX 3080 12 GB

Ram - 32 GB Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 2600 MHZ

MOBO - Gigabyte X570 Elite Wifi

Storage - Crucial P5 1TB NVME

PSU - EVGA 850 G+

After installing a clean version of windows I updated everything. I checked all the updates for the GPU and Windows its all good there.

Though still I am getting massive stuttering when updating any other programs or when I try to open and run Unreal engine 5 it just lags to the extreme.

Any idea what I can do to fix it?

Gigabyte automatically enables TPM. It has been known to cause issues on AMD. If you’re still on W10 disable it in your bios. It’s getting less and less common that it’s the root cause as it seems to be mostly fixed except for a few odd situations. It’s still an easy one known for causing issues and an easy one to rule out.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

Ill give that a shot then, I'll throw you and update and see if it works!

Welp it didn't really work to much. I disabled it but I am still getting a ton of lag when I even try to run Unreal5 or applications like Signal RGB. Any other ideas?

What are your temps and usage on cpu ram and GPU? 2600 is a little slow for Zen 3.

The ram is 3600 MHZ whoops but the temp at idel is around  40 C. I just tried to run a performance test and my whole system could barley run it..... I had to turn it off because I couldn't even move my mouse. I am trying to see where I am under performing....

Download hwinfo and run in sensors only mode. It’ll tell you what is hitting a performance cap. I’m flying today so I’m in and out a lot. Hopefully someone else will jump in.

I appreciate all the help man. I think its my GPU bc I did a test only on my CPU and it ran as expected for a Ryzen 7 5800X but this GPU can't even run a 2D test well it was at the 2% like this is a 3080 12GB man wtf LOL

But I hope you have safe travels man!

I wonder if I should take it to a PC repair shop (local one) and see if they can make a better judgement and or fix.... I dont know what to do because I propably fucked my warranty on my GPU because I am water cooling it.....

Does it actually run @3600 but at native speed only?

Did you enable XMP in the BIOS of the motherboard?

Is the motherboard BIOS fully up to date?

I got my motherboard to the version that can run Ryzen 5th gen but not the most up to date because the computer wouldn't work other wise.

I don't think the ram runs the full 3600 bc I checked and I think it said something like 2600 but don't trust me on that I currently have it off.

Lastly like I said above I checked the CPU performance and it runs amazingly. Only when I run a 2D test or 3D test dose it freeze / go extremely slow.

GPU temps on these tests? If they are high, I'd check that watercooled gpu. try if theres a difference with reapplied heatsink/fan maybe?

Sorry for the late reply. But GPU temps are typically 31 in idel but under load maybe up to 50. I put brand new thermal paste on (Noctua) but no real difference and I checked it is making good contact with the chip too. I also checked the connections and I can't push them anymore they are fully in.

Is there a good way to troubleshoot which part in my system is exactly acting up? (IE programs, tests, and more)

Also my RAM is currently running at 2600 MHZ but it is rated up to 3200MHZ any ideas on that?
