Ram speed in task manager

Hello,

I have 2 ram sticks and both of them say that they are DDR-4 3200. However, when I go into task manager it says 2667 for the speed. I was wondering if that meant they were only using 2667 at the time or they have been limited to 2667? Is there any way to check?

I also at one time had an issue like this, turns out my motherboard didn't support these exact sticks I had. Look at the compatibility in ur motherboard manual, itll tell you brand and models that work.

RAM doesn't just work at rated speeds out of the box.

2666Mhz is a low bin default as most memory will boot at these settings (compatability low end)

You have to set the PC up to use XMP/Rated speeds from the Bios.

The stickers saying 3200 are correct, just not activated by themselves is all.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Available RAM speed depends on the RAM, CPU and motherboard. What's the brand and model of your RAM, CPU and motherboard?

Enter the motherboard BIOS and activate XMP.

Is the motherboard BIOS fully up to date?
