Hey there, unfortunately I've already tried that .bio file from the intel website and it doesn't work because it's not the raw .bin to reflash the bios chip using an external reflasher. Only way I can think of getting the .bin file is to retrieve a working one from someone else's bios chip manually.

Just rename it. After the . Type in bin instead of bio

Ok, hhmm.

I do know a lot of AMI bios file extensions end in .rom

Try renaming to .rom and give it another shot.

Hello, tried renaming it to .rom this time but still doesn't work. I suspect the .bio file to be some sort of Intel encryption so that it'll only work reflashing through their bios recovery so renaming the file won't help. I think only getting a .bin file extracted from another NUC of same model or a preprogrammed chip would work.

Only alternative is go to Ebay and contact "BiosDepot" and request a chip. They should be able to install any bios you want. You'll have to do some minor solder work, but should be simple enough.
