Do I need a new PSU for the new GPU

Simsapopov

Hey all, finally was able to get my hands on new GPU 6750xt. To be exact POWERCOLOR RED DEVIL OC RADEON RX 6750 XT. Other parts in my PC : 5600x, b550 mobo, 5 Argb120 mm fans, 2 sata and one m.2 NVMIE SSD's. I originally wanted to get 6700xt and created a topic here to ask if my  650W Super Flower Leadex III ARGB 80 Plus Gold will be good. Now with 6750xt bigger TDP im here again for your opinion. Thanks!

I'd you have both componets already I'd just try it and see if it runs. You'd be surprised how much lower wattage psus can handle decently speced pcs

If you haven't bought the RX 6750 XT, I'd suggest to find ones with lower TDP, the Powercolor one PSU recommended capacity is 700W, but the reference card is 650W, therefore find ones with lower PSU requirement.

Or, you could lower the power limit on the GPU, that will help lower the max power draw.

RX 6750 XT and RX 6700 XT has almost similar TDP. PowerColor recommends 700W PSU probably because the power profile they used is a bit aggressive, but should not be a problem for a 650W PSU (if your PSU is in Tier A).

According to AMD websites, RX 6700 XT typically uses 230W and RX 6750 XT typically use 250W of power, with both of them recommend minimum PSU Wattage to be 650W.

What you can do is to undervolt your card with either MSI Afterburner or AMD Adrenaline Software to reduce the power consumption of your GPU while maintaining the performance. Many GPU are over volt anyway which causes more heat and more stress to the components, which causes the fan to spin faster drawing unnecessary power just to cool your GPU.

It's a very good PSU that shouldn't have any issue with a 6750 XT.
