That makes no sense.

He's using the 2600k as an example of how older generation cpus don't always get cheaper.

the new part wont be cheaper, the old part will go up.

The main reason why sandy bridges were more expensive than ivy bridges was just because sandy bridge clocked better and ran cooler. Same thing now with ivy bridge & haswell but now that devil canyon is fixing all the cons of haswell cpu's I'd rather expect the haswells dropping in price.
