IKEA Besta Airflow hacks?

Hi,

I wanting to create better airflow in my IKEA Besta Frame 60x40x38cm. I wanting to know whether two exhaust fans would be enough to provide adequate ventilation and cooling.

My concerns are the thin cardboard backing of the cabinet wouldn't be strong enough to hold the exhaust fans.

Any tips or suggestions on modifying the cabinet would be great.

Cheers.

Linus recently did a similar thing to his home setup, there's a video about it IIRC. But if you don't trust the backboard, consider adding an MDF insert, cut to size, that has the fan attached to it and is jammed between the planks to add some rigidity. Obviously you need to make a hole for each fan, but the backboard doesn't need to support the weight of said fans.

My concerns are the bowing of that shelf. I really would swap the Playstation and the audio box before doing anything permanent.

That being said. I prefer having holes drilled and vent fans added to me.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.
