Am I Screwed?!

Hello,

 

I recently bought a  brand new GIGABYTE RTX 3080 Ti Gaming OC and since the day I installed it it has been CONSTANTLY freezing my entire PC!

 

At first, games like Battlefield 1, Battlefield V, Star Wars Battlefront II, Doom, Doom Eternal, etc... were all suddenly giving me black screens with splashes of color and then the entire PC would freeze with ZERO response to anything other than powering it off.

 

I updated my BIOS and everything ran ok for a while until today... I was re-playing Doom (2016) when suddenly the game froze and then the entire PC froze! I restarted my PC (power off then on), restarted Doom (2016), and again, another f****** freeze after around 20-30 minutes of gameplay!

 

I checked my GPU temps and it seems that it runs at 70-75 at when running Doom (2016) on Ultra settings and the GPU utilization was between 30-60%

 

Same behavior was observed with all the other aforementioned games.

 

Do I've a defective card? Or is my motherboard (https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B560M-DS3H-AC-rev-1x) the problem? Am I screwed?!

try ddu'ing the gpu drivers and reinstall the latest drivers.

Thanks for the reply but I don't know what DDU'ing means

 

I've already obliterated the drivers and re-installed them multiple times!

Could you also list your full PC specs as well please? This could be helpful to look at the rest of the components to see if something else could be the cause potentially.

Motherboard: B560M DS3H AC

CPU: Intel® Core™ i5-11600K

GPU: GIGABYTE RTX 3080 Ti Gaming OC (Latest drivers)

RAM: 32 GB DDR4 2666 MHz

Operating System: Windows 11 (Latest updates as of today)

Power Supply: Seasonic PRIME TX-850, 850W 80+ Titanium

I guess I'm screwed after all. Uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers the GPU still acts up

This might be a psu problem since seasonics prime series has had some problems with transients on their 12v rail. The wattage is fine, it's just that specific lineup of psus.
