Windows File Explorer - One Drive behavior?

I just started using One Drive recently, so really don't have any experience.

So I came across multiple users in my company having two OneDrive folders within their File Explorer:

 

 

Ignore the red circled Pesonal one. I've blacked out the company name, but as you can see there is a "One Drive - CompanyName" folder and a "CompanyName" folder.

This is on another user's machine.

 

On my machine I only have the "One Drive - CompanyName" folder.

 

I could probably figure this out myself, but I'm honestly too lazy, but I'm also the one that needs to support this garbage.

Microsoft is just making things unnecessarily complicated.

Edit: Just to be clear: I want to know what the difference between the two bottom ones in the picture are. The Personal one I understand.

Right click your personal onedrive in the file explorer, click settings, and then account, click add an account and sign into your personal account.

I think it's where shared folders go, if the company (from the main onedrive account) shares a folder with an employee then it will be displayed there with the different icon.

I see, that makes sorta sense actually. Still wondering why Microsoft made this so complicated. You'd think if this is the standard behavior for company shared files, that it would also be the standard behavior for shared personal files, especially office files, but it's not. Oh well...

Yup. I neevr experienced it thaugh on my side.

It's been many years since I am out of the IT space.

 

I think there is an option on IT side of things with OneDrive as my company doesn't have it.

Yeah I think its used in combination with Microsoft Sharepoint. And Sharepoint is honestly an unnecessary mess. Should be killed.
