Laptop not detecting headphones

so basically even when i plug in my headphones the laptop just plays audio through its speaker and its not even detecting my headset mic....also the audio is a bit weird. I think its a audio driver or audio software issue. Can anyone suggest me one?

 

also i know that the headphone jack is alright since it works if i mess around with driver so yeah

What do you mean suggest, drivers are hardware specific, you need to find your laptop manufacturers site and download some version of drivers, new, old, whichever works better. Or you can find out the specific model of the audio chip and download drivers from the supplier site.

I had this issue to, for me it turns out the stupid auto update from windows...
turn off auto driver and app update.
settings>about pc>advanced system settings>hardware>device installation settings>set this one to NO.
microsoft store>app settings>app updates (off)
full uninstall audio drivers and re-install the one from manufacturer website for your device.
