gigabyte 3070 or 3070ti ? is it worth the extra for the 3070ti over the 3070, it's for gaming at 1440P, at the moment I have a 280x so yes it's about time I upgraded

Also is 8 gigs vram good enough for 1440P

3070 did well for me at 1440p with a 3700x, but it depends on what games you will be playing, how high you want the settings, and what fps you are hoping for. what are the specs of the rest of the pc? 8gb is plenty for most things imo.

From what I've read the 3070Ti isn't worth the extra over a 3070, and now the 3080 price dropped very close to the 3070TI (at least in Europe)

So either get a 3070 or a 3080

What prices are we talking about though? Generaly the 3070ti is a waste of money (I would argue that a 3070 is as well unles it costs close enough to RTX 3060ti in which case its worth it).

That's a very expensive 3060ti. But if the prices are like that and 3070 is 620 then sure, go for it.

 

Here the 3060ti cost around 530eur which is around 440 GBP (20% tax included).
