i have a pc the has a power supply the has a switch from 140 to 240 and i have a amd rysen 3 3200 i will be upgrading my cpu to a 5600 because if its a hardware problem its the cpu  and i need to upgrade it anyway. i have tried to rpelace it before but when i have my power supply on 140 it does not have enough wattage for the cpu 5600 but when i put it on 240 my gpu gets too much wattage i think thats what i been told and then because of my cpu my pc wont start. i have run file check antivirus scan almost anything i can do without just changing hardware here are my question what power supply would be good for a geforce gtx 1060 and a rysen 5 5600 and what cna i do to make sure it doesn't crash again.

The 240/120 is for power in multiple nations.  They all have em these days.  It should provide the same amount of DC power in each instance.  The 240/120 thing is about ac wall power.
So probably a less than 30 year old power supply, and probably a desktop rather than an all-in one.  No nation of origin. (Probably isn’t needed) not all am4 motherboards can do zen3 though zen2 was ubiquitous.  It will need some sort of bios update most likely if it can do it at all.  Many boards, especially lower end ones, must have a working cpu in them to do the update to make the new cpu usable.  Computer repair places frequently have CPUs on hand for this purpose.  You will almost certainly need a bigger power supply though the wattage of the one you have isn’t mentioned.  Or whether your wall power is 110 (120) or 220-250 (more or less everyone else) I suggest reading the pinned posts at the top of the troubleshooting section.  It may prove useful.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
