Wake issue with Dell 32inch from MacBook Pro (intel 2019) USB-C > DisplayPort

Leglessmatt

Hi,

Hope someone can help, really driving me a bit mad trying to figure out what's causing it!

I have a MacBook Pro 13inch (2019 intel, last model before M1) connected to my Dell 32inch monitor via a USB-C to DisplayPort.

All works fine for about four months, then the monitor decides not to wake from sleep unless I open the MacBook and pull out the display cable and plug it back in.

The only fix I 'think' works, is to unplug all cables from the monitor and leave it for a few mins, then everything works again for three/four months...

I've tried various laptops and cables, so I think the issue lies with the monitor.

Has anyone heard of specific Dell vs MacBook issues, or MacBook USB-C > DisplayPort issues etc?

The monitor is still under warranty so going down that path next.

Cheers,

Matt
