Hi everyone.

Since I built my PC in 2020 I have had an issue where my audio would suddendly stutter for 0.5-1s. I coudn't find anything that triggers this or any cause so I thought that if there's someone who has any idea I would find them here.

Description of the issue:

Sudden audio stutter for 0.5-1s. Everything goes back to normal afterwards. Happens at random, sometimes multiple times a week sometimes once in 3 months. Coudn't replicate the issue willingly -> happens at random while watching videos, gaming or listening to music on Spotiy.

Things I have tried:

  • Reinstalling Windows
  • Reinstalling Drivers - Audio, Video, CPU etc.
  • Went from Windows 10 to 11 -> Issue remains
  • Tried front and back IO

Don't think there's anything wrong with temps since it happens under low, medium and high loads.

Hardware + Software:

  • Ryzen 3700X -> No OC
  • Corsair H100i Platinum AIO
  • RTX 2070 Super -> no OC
  • Corsair Vengeance 16GB 3200 mHz -> XMP enabled, Dual Channel  (2x8)
  • MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max
  • Samsung 870 EVO -> 5 Years old now (C-Drive) but according to Samsung Tool still in good shape
  • Corsair RM 750 -> oldest part in the system (6yrs)
  • Windows 10 -> Windows 11 (Issue remained)

Maybe it's the power supply since it's the oldest part but since the issue happens at random during low or high loads I think it's unlikely (let me know if it isn't)

I know this is an extremely difficult thing to troubleshoot because there really isn't any information but I am desperate and looking for possible issues instead of fixes so I can try to find the source of the problem.

Thank you guys.

Do you use any antivirus?

Does it still happen with XMP disabled?

No Antivirus -> Windows Defender disabled.

Gotta try disabling XMP (the problem is that the issue occurs randomly so it's going to take a couple of weeks to verify if this is the actual solution
