Laptop screen resolution screwed up

(Asus x555lf laptop) 
Hi, my laptops hard drive was broken so i got a old one, done a fresh Windows 10 install, and now the screen looks like its broken. 
How can i fix this?
 

(I already tried to change the resolution but the screen resolution doesn't appear in settings.)

 

Tried installing multiple different drivers, disconecting and reconnecting display cable. 

 

Connecting the laptop to a tv works like a charm.

Sounds like it may be a monitor problem if it doesn't do it on a tv

How can I check? the monitor was working perfectly before
