Which case should I get?

  • Zalman S4 Plus
  • Antec P101 Silent

PC specs: 1070Ti, R5 3600, Stock CPU cooler, 2.0TB HDD, 256GB Corsair MP510

Sounds like a not new machine.  What do you currently have and why don’t you like it?  I personally haven’t seen anything good come out of zalman in some years, though this may be an exception.

One appears to be a muffling style case the other appears to be a flow style case(the zalman). Muffling style cases are better for instances where there are things that make noise regardless such as HDDs.  Flow style cases reduce noise by requiring fewer fans thus less noise is generated.   SSDs don’t make noise, and their prevalence has given rise to flow cases.  Generally speaking, if the only thing in the case that can potentially make noise is fans flow cases work better.  If there is lots of noise being produced by something other than a fan though the muffling case may work better.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
