Hello,

I'm trying to get the nexcloud server running on WSL (to run photo backup as i want to migrate off of Google). I've seen dozens of guides and i did follow them but they all have one thing in common. All of them link to a nexcloud versions that support PHP 7.3 version. I need something that can handle 8.1 because otherwise i get an error about an incompatible PHP version when accessing nexcloud via browser.  Now the newest version of nexcloud does include 8.1 support but the problem is i can't find the archive for that version anywhere, there is only an AppImage. That would be ok in case of a Linux instance with a GUI but i can't use it without one (not saying it's not possible, i don't have a lot of Linux experience).

The question is: is it possible to extract an archive from an AppImage? Or is that not worth the trouble and i should look into something else other than nexcloud for self hosted photo backup?

Thanks!

Apt-get should pull the latest version… I’m no linux expert either but all I ever do is apt-get and just assume it pulled the latest and greatest, because that’s sort of the point.
