Just one, the cables on paper aren't rated extremely high, but they can take continuous beatings to no end. For example, on my 1500i, the over circuit point trips at 40A, which equals to 420W at +12v - and really that's around the point of the cable melting due to a short. You can pull a lot of big power even with one cable without worries at all. The second is mostly there for not much but the super extreme cases (think overclocking with a water chiller).
