Sad git would like help with compatibility.

I currently have a Gigabyte z590 Aorus Pro motherboard with an i7-10700k.

I am currently running 4 X 8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB (sad I know)

With a Thermalright Ultra 120 extreme fitted with a Noctua 120mm fan.

The fan is actually very slightly forcing the nearest stick of ram over towards the 2nd dimm.

I am looking to replace the cooler with something as good that will not overhang the ram.

I've a Lian li lancool II mesh case on its way.

I was hoping to use an Arctic 280mm aio in the top of the case, but I understand it will not fit.

Any suggestions please?

Is it possible to shift the fan up slightly to avoid the RAM stick? (& still have it fit in the case?)

I feel, rightly or wrongly, that I would loose a fair amount of cooler performance as it's quite a lift.

About 7-10mm?

I’d test it before & after. Because right now, that fan’s blades may be slightly hindered by the RAM & by shifting the fan, the blades will be unobstructed, so performance may be balanced out.

Noctua’s are so good, that its cooling efficiency should still be fine. It’s just whether you like the look of the fan protruding out..
