Hello there,
Today i was looking for some game deals and i saw this counter strike:Global offensive RU key on this website called G2A.com.

https://www.g2a.com/counter-strike-global-offensive-steam-cd-key-ru.html

First-

Is this g2a.com legit and does it give you the keys after you buy?

If anyone ever used this and it worked for them please reply.

Second-

So this key was on sale for only around 7$ and i was wondering if i could buy this and activate the key in my region USA,

can i buy it and activate it on my steam account in USA?

If anyone can help clearing my doubt that would be great.
By the thanks for help!.

The site is legit, a few of my friends have used it to buy game codes.  Not sure about activating the RU key in the US, that's why they have Global Keys.

Yep its legit. A lot of big youtubers recommend and promote the site and it even runs charity events.

I personally wouldn't use a key that isnt for your country/global. Its possible the game will be in the wrong language, won't activate, or could cause trouble. It is there to give a fair price to low income countries, not so you can pay nothing for your new game

G2A prices are generally really good, only buy 3 games so far on there, got the key in a few seconds and registered fine every time

I've used G2A a few times. Seems legit.  They made a huge donation to the Yogscast 2013 Xmas stream which was nice.

Never bought a key that wasn't either for my region, or Global.  The RU keys are really cheap - but never bothered looking in to how to use the VPN trick to activate them.

There's also this site dlcompare.com that is useful for searching for other sites that sell keys - but to be honest, I still tend to use G2A, even if it is a bit pricer.

One thing to be aware of with G2A - is that they also allow third parties to sell keys via their site.  This definitely seems sketchy, but can save you even more money. To add a layer of safety to this, they have a service for 1Euro where they will validate your key from the third party.

The way this works is that instead of giving you a key they give you a 'token' when you purchase.  You then have to connect with a G2A chat representative who will trade the token for the key and use Teamviewer to screenshare with you to make sure everything works OK and the key validates as you enter it in to Steam, Origin etc.  This is a nice service, but you need to be aware that it can take HOURS of waiting in a chat queue before you get to trade your token. And until you can trade it, you can't unlock the game.  The longest I waited was 3 hours on a weekend - but during a week night it normally takes around 45mins to 1 hour.

I tend to now buy most of my keys from G2A (So far have bought for Battle.net, Steam and Origin - all have worked first time)

I wouldn't buy a key thats not for your region though. You can use a VPN to activate the key but it is against Steam TOS and may result in your whole account being banned (I havent encountered anyone to whom this happened but it is a possibility)

NZXT Phantom 410 Gunmetal | Asus Z87-A (don't ask why I have a Z mobo with a non k cpu, have my reasons)| Intel Core i7 4770 | XGIMATEK Dark Knight II| 8GB Corsair Vengeance | 120GB SKHynix | 2tb WD Green | Gigabyte GTX 770 OC | OCZ 750W ZT | Logitech DiNovo Edge | Logitech G602

Yes. I bought RoS on there. The key didn't work, but 3 hours after submitting a ticket I got a new key. It wasn't their fault, it was a key someone had bought and then returned for a refund and said that he never used it. Cunt.

  • 2 weeks later...

Some people claim if steam sees your switching russian and other ips often and between short amounts of time they ban you. I don't know if this is true tough. They say the same about gift accounts.

g2a seems legit, personally i use keydealer.biz
