Playing 16:9 games on Ultra-Wide: Borderless window in center?

I want to play games on my ultrawide at 16:9. But instead of having black bars at the side. I just want a borderless window in the middle of the screen and the desktop on either side. So I can choose my own background on the side areas instead of black bars.

Anyone know if this is possible?

There might be a game or two out there that happen to behave like this, but none that I have seen. I am confident that you won't be able to get this kind of thing working consistently on a variety of game. The best you can do is a standard Windowed mode.

As a 32:9 owner since 2019 I can say I agree with everything said here.
