So having an unusual issue....

Neft

so i recently bought a pc through one of the companies that builds them, picked out my own parts, OS etc...

i had to go into the motherboard later on and enable it over to user mode because they forgot to do that in order to get valorant to run, i suck at it but it's still fun to mess around with occasionally, but let's get into the issues.

it came with windows 11 and i asked for windows 10 on the form, no big deal, i can always downgrade it back to 10 myself if i truly have to.

however after having the PC for a few months its started having issues, the main one and only one i haven't figured out how to fix being it resetting my usb devices, for example in the middle of a gaming session such as RDO or valorant or FFXIV or minecraft what have you since i'm a variety gamer/streamer so i have a ringlight, webcam, mouse/keyboard, usb mic, headset, capture card etc... it breaks everything for anywhere from 30seconds to 2 minutes and it's so hit and miss im having problems narrowing down the fix for it, for example it might not do it for a month, then all of a sudden it does it three times in a week.

if it was a PSU issue which who knows maybe it is, usually everything would mess up but the game and everything is still running fine, it's just my USB devices that are resetting on me, i've only downloaded things from official sources such as steam, riot etc... so i highly doubt it's a virus but we know steams file checks aren't entirely full proof so who knows.

but this is me reaching out to see if maybe its something with my motherboard or my usb ports or maybe someone else had this issue and upgrading the psu fixed it, it's still under warranty and with my job i don't really have time to buy new ports and attach/remove the old ones if that's it, from what i saw on the motherboard i couldn't find any solders linked together or any cracking or anything.

these same devices never had this issue on my other PC so i know it's not the devices themselves

What motherboard? This sounds like b550 loosing usb connection. If we know which motherboard exactly we can point you to the drivers to fix it.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.

i believe it's a Z690 PG riptide, i've contacted them as it appears the drivers i've found were already up to date, so hopefully they have something i didn't see listed.

i will update here once the issue is actually fixed or if this fails to fix it
