I have a HDD which I want to use for storage. What is this connection with the picture called? And what should I look for if I would like to connect it via USB?

Is the HDD you want to connect through USB a 2,5" or a 3,5" ??
If it's 3,5" you need adapter with additional 12v power.

Or buy one that is intended for 2,5" and DIY an additional 12v to it.

(requires kinda delicate soldering)
