Single 4k or multiple 1440p's

Tole2378

It's easier since you can play at more optimal Aspect Ratios like:

5:4 - 4:3 < Nobody uses CRT in this day and age (Or at least I hope not)

16:10 + 16:9 < Best for gaming > 1280 × 800 - 1680 × 1050 - 1920 x 1200 - 2560 x 1440 - 3840 × 2160 [False 4K] I use 1920x1080 seems fine. I used 1440x800 for a few years but it's not worth it...haha

Any monitor AR from above ^ will do perfectly for gaming since you don't want 1440x800 or something like that since it's odd and will look mighty strange on any game.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Field_of_view_in_video_games < Explains in good detail why 16:9 is the optimal aspect ration in the current circut of resolutions.

Of course any gaming manufacturers like ASUSm ROG, BenQ will know whats the best resolutions. But I personally will be getting a 4K for £479 from Samsung so I can test a few games with my soon to be Single EVGA SC 780ti 3gb.

Anywho, 3x 1440p's will roast any card currently on the market I mean you will struggle to run most games at medium if you stretch it over 3 1440p's, it is ill advised to get them it's either 1 4K or 3 1080p's.

1 card will struggle with 4k too. The pixel count isn't "that" much higher with surround. One thing to keep an eye on is framebuffer. Wow is even over 3gb with surround and iirc battlefield 4 has gone over 5gb w 3x1080p

so then a single 1440p or dual?

No, Titan Z would smoke 4k @ 1 monitor even Titan Black could hold off 4k @ 40fps- 60fps. Remeber you literally don't need AA with 4k which lightens the load.
