is it possible to force application to open on certain display?

I have a work laptop connected to two screens, and every time I open an application it opens on Main screen, which is fine most of the time, but sometimes I would like it to pen on other screen specified by me.

is there some kind of command line I could add to shortcut for example? Forcing it to open on display=2 or something like that?

Not sure if it's built into apps themselves or it's a windows thing but each app should remember which screen it was last closed on and next time you open it, it should open on the monitor you closed it on.

Maybe if you unplug your connection daily as you use your laptop on the go only plugging it in when coming home, maybe resets this feature to open on monitor 1 as default. Check if such windows settings exist somewhere.

Yeah I am moving my laptop between home and office, that apps do not remember where they were...

That is why I kind of hoped I could make a shortcut with some argument or something and that would force app to open or chosen screen ##

If there is a windows setting that makes app reset to default nr 1 monitor then there also has to be a setting that turns this off/changes so that default now is 2 monitors. Just don't know how deep you have to dig to find something like this.

Windows can't do so complex things by default. It can do where you close on one screen and it opens again in same. For more complex, like separate profiles between work and home setups, you need extra software. With such software, you can also set other software to open on certain monitors while certain profiles are active.

One of these is DisplayFusion, but there are others like Actual Multiple Monitors and MultiMon, offering similar features. I've had DisplayFusion for years now.
